I'm a Beluga (And Other Bedtime Thoughts)

Mom got an annual pass to the aquarium, so we've been going a lot more lately. I've always liked sea creatures—orcas especially—but the beluga demonstrations have been really cool. Now when I'm in the bath or running around the house, I tell everyone I'm a beluga. It just feels right, you know?

Bedtime's gotten more interesting lately too. Dad laid down with me the other night because he wanted to see what I actually do before I fall asleep. I told him I talk to myself, which is true. He asked if I do it in English or Japanese, and it's definitely English. Then he asked what I talk about, and I told him: how much I love Mommy and Daddy and Lucas and Grandma and Grandpa. That's mostly what goes through my head when I'm lying there.

I also discovered something cool with my nightlight. It sits on the shelf above my bed, and if I hold my hands up just right, I can make shadows move around. I've been doing this little hand-dancing thing with them—it's kind of like shadow puppets but not really any specific shapes. Just movement.

I've been feeling really affectionate this month. I don't know why exactly, but I just want to hug everyone and tell them I love them more than usual. It's just how I am right now. It's a good month.
